I sco no necessity for Shoikh to insist on document mentioned. X find these .
bonds not to intriguo under pain of forfeiture rather ombarrassing and thoy givo
ri^e to false impressions that subjects can bargain with their ruler. In that respoct ,
thoy arc truly Oriental though not unprecedented in tho West.
