               In continuation of my letter No. 6535, dated 5th instant, I am directed to forward here­
            with, for the information of the Government of India, copy of a letter from the Political
            Resident at Eden, No. C.-242, dated 1st idem, reporting how the slaves brought into Aden
            by H. M. S. Philomel have been disposed of.

               In continuation of my letter No. C.-209, dated 4th November last, I have the honor to
            state that the 196 slaves brought into Aden by H. M. S. Philomel have been disposed
            of as follows

               The total expenditure on account of these slaves has aggregated Rupees (2,288*8-6)
           two thoasand two hundred eighty-eight annas eight and pies six, as detailed in the statement
           herewith attached. For this expenditure the formal sanction of Government is solicited.
