It is perhaps 'well to placo on record that, in August of this year, His
Highness the Sultan of Maskat wrote to
1 ^ Shaikh Said bin Mukhtum raising an
objection to tho occupation by the Bani Yas of the village of Hajazain in the
Waddi Hatta. As a precaution, the Acting Resident addressed Ilis Highness
requesting him to acquaint tho Residency with tho particulars of tho
Maskat claim. To this no reply has been received, probably because
it was difficult to frame one.
