Ab could be oxpoctod under the present circumstances, the National Bank
of Persia handled the bulk of business in Kerman during the year.
Recommendations for the opening of branches of this bank in the towns
of Bam and Si rjan have not been approved by Tehran up to the time of writing.
The branch opened at Rnfsinjan in September 1930 is said to he doing good
          business.
Yawar Abdul Hussein Mirza Jchangiri, formerly Chief of Police at Qum,
who relieved Yawar Sayyed Yusuf Khan
                        Police. .
IChatimi early in June, held the post of
Provincial Commissioner of Police for the rest of the year.
Estimates submitted to Tehran in the middle of the year for the extension
of the present Police premises arc said to have been approved of by the Central
Administration and tenders have been invited, with a view to starting building
          operations.
The Police service in Kerman is perhaps the only one which has not been
affected much by the now improvements so far as corruption is concerned, and
the low rate of salaries prevailing in the department is probably the chief
          reason.
The dealings of the Police authorities with the Consulate remain on the l
          whole fairly stiff and formal.
Mirza Kcza Khan Tajaddud, Chief Judge of the Appeal Court, proceeded
on one month’s leave to Tehran at the
                     Justice.
latter part of March, handing over actin'"
charge to Vosuq, a member of the Appeal Court, who remained in charge until
relieved by Mirza Fnzlullah Khan Ashtiani in the middle of June, Tajaddud
having in the meantime been transferred to Meshed. Ashtiani held the post of
Acting Chief Judge of the Appeal Court, as well as departmental chief of the
Justice Administration in Kerman for the rest of the year.
The post of Public Pleader of the Bedayat Court (Court of First Instance)
in Kerman was filled up for the first time by Mirza Reza Klmu .Sharili, * who
arrived from Tehran at. the end of December 1933, Several other transfers and
changes took place in the Justice Department'in Kerman during the year.
The principal Justice appointments held in Kerman at the time of writing
          are as follows :—
Tstinaf’ (Appeal Court) .. Chief Judge (also departmental chief of the Justice
                                        Department).
                                                                                           i
                                      Public Prosecutor. !
                                      Senior Member.
                                      Member.
                                      Reserve Member.
‘Bedayat’ (Court of First Instance) • Chief Judge.
                                      Public Prosecutor.
                                      Public Pleaded
                                      Reserve Member. i
           Sulhieh* (Small Cause) Judge.
                                                                                            !
           Mustantiq’ (Investigating. Judge).
The only improvement noticeable in the Justifce Administration at Kerman
is the fact that no cases of corruption on the part of the officials of this de
partment were brought to notice during the year. Otherwise, the Department
is still unpopular as regards its dilatory methods.
Registration of property.—Muhammad Hassan Khan Shahpuri hold the
post of Chief of the Registration Office in Kerman throughout the year.
