(2) American Interests.—In December one A jib Khan (British Indian
subject) visited the Trucial Coast in the interests of the California Arabian
Standard Oil Company. The Shaikhs arc understood to have taken the
line that they have granted options to Petroleum Concessions, Limited, and
till those options expire they were not willing to negotiate with others.
