                A few changes hare taken place during the year. Mr. E. B. Gunter
            assumed charge of the Mtikran Coast in October, vice Mr. R. C. Barker,
            C.I.E., on the latter’s appointment as Director-in-Chief of the Indo-European
            Telegraph Department, at the India Office.
              # Major A. P. Trevor, C.I.E., relieved Captain D. L. R. Lorimer, at Bahrain,
            Jhilst the latter assumed charge of the Kerman Consulate on the departure Of
            bieutenant-Colonel T. TV. Haig, C.M.G., on furlough.
                Major TV. P. T. O’Connor, 0JJ3., who was at the time en route'to succeed
            ■weutenant-Colonel Haig at Kerman, was deputed by the Government of Lidia!
            a‘ the request of His Majesty’s Minister, to assume charge of the Shim Con­
            nate on the appointment of Mr. TV. A. Smart to officiate as Oriental Secretary
            ** Tehran.
