PERSONALIA
Letters have been received from Baghdad reporting the sate
arrival there of Dr. and Mrs. James Cantine. Their permanent
address is 3-1-9 Maude Bridge Road, Baghdad, Mesopotamia.
A letter has also been received from Dr. Louis 1*. Dame, sent
li'iiu Riadh where lie had been spending some time as the gin M of
ill Sultan of the Nejd. lie was about to proceed on his iurther
journey to Aneyza and Bereidah, and hoped that he might also
reach Hail.
Dr. and Mrs. Paul W. Harrison, after a notably useful furlough
in America, much of it spent in visits to Colleges and Universities,
sailed from New York on March 8, 1924, on their return to Arabia.
Rev. and Mrs. li. J. Pennings are expecting to lea*»e \ rabia
April 4th, by overland route across the Desert to Damascus, on
their overdue iurlough .to America.
The interesting photograph on the cover represents a group of
the Missionaries of the Basrah Station with visiting friends who :
were together during last Christmas Season. The missionaries are :
Rev. and Mrs. John Van Ess, Rev. and Mrs. Dirk Dykestra, Miss r
Kellien, the Misses Jackson and Mr. Gosselink. The visitors are
Mrs. Firman, mother of Mrs. Van Ess, Mrs. John W. Conklin and
Miss Conklin of the Arcot Mission, and Miss Luce spending a year
in India. The gentleman on the right below is Major Nates in
charge of the Engineering Department of the Iraq Railwas>, and
grandson of the famous missionary to China, Dr. \Y. A. P. Martin.
