The Silent Working of The Holy Spirit
                                                   Mrs. William J. Mokkdyk

E HAVE been shown just recently through the coming of
W Ali, our new convert in Bahrein, Arabia, that Christ, through
His Holy Spirit, reveals Himself to man. This young man,
Ali, of whom you have heard before, was brought up as
the other Mohammedans around us in superstition and ignorance.
One day, while he was still young, he chanced to hear one of our lady
missionaries speak in the vicinity of his home. The only impression,
at that early age, which this experience left with him was the fact that
the speaker was a missionary. This was his first contact with the
                               mission.
Later, when Ali grew up, and studied the Koran and Mohammedan
ism, he realized the corruptness of its beliefs and teachings, and the

exception to the rule out here, for he was well educated and was able
to read and write. His attitude was also different in the fact that he
read his Koran, not saying it from memory and repeating it word for
word without a thought as to its significance and meaning, Inn aitaly*.

peace of soul. His heart was not satisfied with the beliefs and
religion that Mohammedanism presented in its book, the Koran, and
