Father and Founder
By Charleco Scipio Jr.
There are more ways to be a Father than one. Being an Owner and Operator of a well-known
and successful restaurant franchise can make one a Father as well. One of the best examples
of this duality of Fatherhood is Reginald “Reggie” Webb.
Reggie was born in South Bend, Indiana and raised in the South. Reggie would later move to
South Central Los Angeles in 1959. There he attended public schools such as Manual Arts.
With high ambitions; Reggie would later go on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1966 to
1969, when he was honorably discharged. Not stopping there, Reggie would go on to attend
Cal State Los Angeles where he studied Political Science.
In 1973, Reggie’s career with McDonald’s started when he joined the McDonalds Corporation.
His ambition and work ethic would take him to middle management and then to Director of
National Operations Department where he was then relocated to Oak Brook, IL. Later Reggie
would move back to LA to become Regional Manager in 1980, and then Vice President in 1982.
All the work sweat, and vision would lead him to become a McDonalds Franchisee in 1985 when
he purchased two restaurants in Pomona, California. Today the number has gone from 2 to 16 total.
Yet his leadership didn’t end there. Reggie Webb has served as the Chairman of the National Black
McDonald's Operator Association; Chairman of the National Leadership Council for McDonald's in
the U.S.; and as the Founding Chairman of the Global Operator Leadership Council. In Addition to
this, he has served on several Board of Directors, taking an active and resilient role in the community
working for positive change and progress in communities across Southern California.
Reggie’s leadership and kindness are felt throughout his organization and the many restaurants
that his family owns and operates. His work ethic and ambition have been adopted by his family
and those who work with Webb Family Enterprises. Reggie Webb has, now and always, immense
care for the communities that his organization services. Reggie Webb has shown us what it means
to be a leader and visionary. For this great service and the countless opportunities given, we say
thank you and Happy Father's Day Mr. Webb.
