To dream...
... is to exercise our power in giving new meaning to life. What is an
inspiration if not a dream that excites my imagination? What is an
innovation other than a dream becoming alive. If we can live and nurture
our destination in our mind, then it is more than expected that we will
celebrate it in real life too.
Take the other day,
I was walking along the stream. I picked up a leaf.
Have you ever noticed her veins?
That make her the unique leaf that she is?
All of a sudden, I was transported to the middle of a parade. More like a
carnival. Everyone was wearing their costume, doing their own thing, yet
they came together and broke apart again. These are the moments of my
life. Countless moments that have made me who I am to this day.
Curiosity got the best of me. What if I decided to get rid of all those
unpleasant moments that caused me so much pain and sorrow?
Who would I be without them?
Would I feel complete?
How confident would I be in dealing with challenging situations?
Right then and there Socrates’ ghost reminded me of his famous words:
“One thing I know, is I know nothing.” How can I know what will lead to
what? How can I predict what opportunity today’s tragedy will bring? How
can I rule out the possibility of something good coming out of something
sad? It’s all life isn’t it? So whatever comes our way, pleasant or otherwise,
let us greet it with a smile because it’s not inherently good or bad unless
we make it so.
It’s simple yet profound. Food, water and air sustain life; Love, kindness
and laughter maintain a sense of well-being. Dreams, sweat and tears,
however, are the ones that build character and make us stronger, more
resilient and confident to handle life as it comes.
