Having drifted to the other side
of the hill, surrounded by the
Mediterranean Sea, with Greece
far ahead of me, Turkey to my right
and Egypt to my left, I marvel at
the diversity of the 230-square-
kilometre peninsula that unfolds
beneath me. The playful valleys,
countless hills and gorges, golden
prairies and rugged coastlines
create a breathtaking panorama.
I realise that our own emotional
landscape is also made up of
different morphologies; valleys
of sadness that give rise to
breathtaking peaks of joy, only to
calm down again and become just
as quiet and flat as an endless,
alluring plain.
