Center’s Activity Director. “Her visits include time with her mom and special time with our other folks. She is so good at listening and talking about what matters to them. She’s always involved in something here,” Vicki said.
Her busy schedule for the day at Chilton Care Center included demonstrating to a group how to knit scarves on a circular knitting loom. “Packer scarves were a big hit last year,” she told the group before wrapping things
up to head to her next task: singing along with Johnny Len; an entertainer from Manitowoc who was visiting to play guitar and sing tunes for everyone. “She knows all of the words,” her mom told me, smiling proudly as Janine sang while others clapped along.
Always busy and giving of herself the best way she knows how, Janine still has time for her favorite pastime – bowling. I asked twice to make sure that I heard her right. Bowling? “Oh yeah,” she says with a swish of her

husband Michael. “It’s something that we enjoy doing together. We enjoy the social
part of it and it gets us out with friends.” When asked if there was anything in her life that she would change, Janine reflected for a moment. Ja- nine smiled and replied, “I would have gotten married earlier in life. Michael and I are good together and I really love him. You know we’ll be celebrating our third
anniversary this coming August 6th!”
Janine inspires one to “see” life more simply -- to ap-
preciate people and relationships more and to look at our own flaws as more of a gift than a hindrance. A neat lady with a lot of wisdom to impart, one doesn’t have to won- der where she finds her inspiration. “God has a place and a purpose for me. My faith is strong and that combined with the love and affection of my family and friends... That’s what inspires me. It’s all about having people who believe
in you and support you no matter how you are.” ♥
