THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be an an an an experienced manager and and administrator with with a a a a a a a background in in in dealing with with agricultural irrigation water or similar utility operations in an agency of comparable size and scope The ability to work collaboratively with the the Board of Directors and and other local and and regional stakeholders coupled with a a a a a a professional demeanor and a a a a a a proven track record of sound fiscal technical and personnel management is expected Strong communication skills both verbal and and written and and the ability to interact effectively
with people from all walks of life including community representatives elected officials Board members management team members and staff are paramount The successful candidate will be a a a a a working manager who both empowers employees while holding them accountable A background in in construction management or the facilitation of capital projects will serve the the next General Manager well as the the District moves forward with significant infrastructure upgrades Additional desirable characteristics identified during discussions with board and staff include:
» Wide range of experience hands-on skills and and the ability to delegate
» Understands the complexities and and political realities of water concerns in the Delta
» Familiar with Groundwater Sustainability Plans
» Encourages staff development supports team-building and cross-training
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree and a a a a a a a a minimum five (5) years years of supervisory experience in in in in a a a a a a a a related field that includes three (3) years years in in in in the public sector/local government is expected P E desirable Or any combination of education and and experience which would likely provide the necessary knowledge and and abilities 6 — EAST CONTRA COSTA IRRIGATION DISTRICT – GENERAL MANAGER
