The Position
The Health and Human Services Administrator Administrator (Administrator) is is is appointed by the County Board of Commissioners and works under the the general supervision of the the Chief Administrative Officer who provides general policy and and and program guidelines and and and evaluates performance through conferences and and and observation of results obtained The administrator directs the Health and and Human Services Department in in in in providing and and purchasing behavioral and public public health services services services The department services services services include nursing services services services in in in both public public health health health health and and behavioral behavioral health health health health medical services in public health health health health and and behavioral behavioral health health health health communicable disease treatment and investigation vital statistics maternal child health services including family planning prenatal and and nursing home visits environmental health health mental mental health health services for adults and and youth which include counseling case management high fidelity services and and 24-hour staffed crisis service service alcohol and and drug treatment including detoxification residential and methadone broad array of prevention services and and developmental disability services for children and and adults including case management employment residential and family support The administrator is is expected to to apply a a a a a a a high level of creative and developmental thinking by identifying high level policy issues and and developing response strategies for the board originate and and implement a a a a a a a broad range of of proposed programs and initiatives that start as a a a a a a a a a a vision or concept negotiate various levels of of participation by business leaders in in partnerships with the county and and create a a a a a a a a high level of support and and participation by state and and local government officials community leaders non-profits and and the public
