Long-Range Planning staff staff manages projects programs and initiatives that support
City Council’s vision for the the city city as described in in in in the the Aurora Places Comprehensive Plan Plan Long-range planning staff staff participate and and and and report to elected officials and and and and city city management on on on on on on on on a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a variety of of regional and and and and local issues including housing transportation and and and and environmental The The Long-Range Planning division develops plans plans for for specific smaller areas within the city These “Small Area” plans plans provide a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a more defined vision for for both existing and and and newly emerging neighborhoods and and and corridors Examples include TOD Station Area Plans and and the 64th Avenue Study The Multimodal Transportation Team focuses on on on on a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a range of transportation planning activities including transit connectivity bicycles pedestrians and parking parking Specific interests include “last mile” transportation transportation infrastructure (streets bike/ped) urban design parking parking program program development and and transit programs Team members also undertake strategic transportation transportation planning and and liaison responsibilities with agencies such as the the the Denver Regional Regional Council of of Governments (DRCOG) the the the Colorado Department of of Transportation Transportation (CDOT) and the the the Regional Regional Transportation Transportation District (RTD) Data Data Services Program staff provides demographics mapping addressing environmental socio- economic and and and sustainability indicators Data Data and and and resources are used to to support
projects across
city departments and and and for the Aurora Economic Development Council Council development community residents government partners Denver Regional Council Council of o Governments school districts/higher education and non-profits
