Story 245
Joe Schmoe
Joe Schmoe used to go a fishing for shad roe. That is, until he
was struck by an ice floe. Then he opted for hunting roe – both
hind and doe. Soon, though, he got shot smack in the el•bow
with an ar•row.
After this he gave hunting a rest to stick to that which he knew
best: mow grass, hoe soil, sow seeds, and grow plants –such as
tobacco, tomato, and potato. But again he was beset by woe:
this time a common crow pecked off his big toe.

a bun•ga•low. However, if I should stumble across some dough,
then off to the marriage rail we shall go !”
“Oh!” ex•claimed Margot, “Is that so! Ergo – heigh-ho! It’s high time
you get your hat and GO !
