A Pie-Eating Contest
How Jim and Guy did vie to eat the most apple pie ! They ate
as though it were do or die, for neither wanted to lose or tie.
Regardless of how hard Jim did try, he couldn't top the
ninety-nine pieces eaten by Guy.
Now, had I not seen this with my very own eye, I'd say that
this was one a•tro•cious lie !
Story 189
Bribed
The scribe reports that the pitcher has "thrown" the game
for the Tribe. He says, "Ed Kyb grew tired of the fans jibe,
and took a bribe. He got $5000 and a free paint job from
Earl Schieb."
