                                              The Song Was Moribund
The tenor was short and rotund
His face was red or rubicund
His dress was tux with cummerbund
His voice was pleasing and orotund
But his song was so sad and moribund
That the crowd cried, “ REFU ND !”
                                                                                                       Story 321
                                                  The Ladder of “Ungs”
The song sung The human lung
The ball flung The ladder rung
The sharp tongue The cask bung
And the hat slung And the cow dung
The bee stung The baby young
The batter swung The rope strung
The vine clung The picture hung
                              The spring sprung and
And the bell rung The split jury hung
                                                                                                       Story 322
                                                     The Plunge
The skin diver plunged into the water and speared a muskellunge, and then
scooped up a big, live sponge. Later for dinner she FRIED UP the muskellunge,
then she CLEANED UP with the now DRIED UP sponge.
                                                                                                               -161-
