     Story 218
                                                           Josh
Josh hates to wash. But he loves to swash, in rain-filled puddles
                       wearing neither rubbers nor mackintosh.
When eating he sloshes his jeans with nosh or squash, causing his
mother to declare, “ Tosh . . . tosh ! By gosh, someday I hope to
quash your behavior with a, befitting, kibosh !”
Nevertheless, Josh simply shrugs his shoulders and says, “ Posh,
                       posh!”
              Story 219
                                            Overtaking the Penobscots
General Scott, summoned every officer to help plot, the capture of the
Panobscots. Said Scott, “ Because our horses are too tired, even to
trot, we will sneak attack in yachts, slowly at five knots.”
As the Indians were dining on beans, kumquat and whatnot, Scott and
his men overtook the Panobscots, firing not, a single shot.
