The "goody, goody" behavior of Jimmy Oaks is a sheer hoax to fool his teacher
and his folks.
When they aren't around, he smokes ! And once, with the help of a helper whom
he had to coax, he stole a case of Pepsi and another of Cokes.
Story 271
She Almost Broke Her Vow
Every day Farmer Howe milked ten head of cow, fed the piglets
and a sow, tilled his fields with a plough, and stacked hay in a
mow.
Hard work had sweat roll from his brow. He did everything he
knew how to please his frau. But Mrs. Howe wouldn't even fix his chow.
E•ven•tu•al•ly they got into a row. So she de•ci•ded to take a bow.
However, swayed by a con•science that wouldn't allow a broken marriage vow, she
soon returned crying, "I'll be better now, if only you'll show me how !"
