Dedication

This book is dedicated to all children who sooner or later will choose to think and draw
conclusions on their own rather than have someone else do it for them, and who would rather live

a life full of great challenge rather than a vicarious one watching mind-numbing television
        programming.

Moreover, this book is dedicated to all children who, as they mature, will seek knowledge and

wisdom and muster the resolve to do whatever necessary to hold government accountable to us,
the people–its very creators: namely, to make government our dutiful servant, not our tyrannical
master; to make government live up to its reason for being, which is to safeguard our God-given

unalienable rights; to demand government restore honest weights and measures, i.e. real money

with a store of value; to prevent government from waging perpetual war; and, most important, to
place God upon government’s shoulder, not beneath its feet!

        Acknowledgments

There are many people responsible in making this book: friends and family who provided
encouragement and moral support, friends and acquaintances who provided editorial and

publishing expertise, numerous artists who drew illustrations, and sound technicians who set this
book to music. Because I have lost track of many of the contributors over the years since this

book was published in 1982, I feel that it would be inappropriate to mention some contributors
while leaving out the others. May the words that I have expressed in previous editions suffice.
