I am interested in telling stories about how we overcome our brokenness and make meaning out
of it for ourselves and others . So, when I read Yogini, which tells t h e story about a young woman

i
who rediscovers her musical talent through loss, I was IN. I fell n love with Sam, she s real, she s
talented, and she is a total badass. She breaks the mold of the stereotypical portrayal of girls in
their teens who are most often depicted scrolling through their phones, bouncing around with
i
i
shopping bags, and nteracting on a surface-level basis. While there s some truth to that trope, there
t
are many other ruths about young women that have yet to be explored on screen. Yogini gives us a
unique character n an unusual but universally elatable situation.

I plan on bringing out he aw emotions of his story hrough a subjective, documentary-like style hat
impacts the viewers on a visceral evel. I am confident that Yogini will reach through the screen and
l
play he chords of audiences’ heartstrings.
