23 | Page February 2 1 I ssue2025 Youth Preparedness Council Application Period Closes on March 3, 2025Do you know a young person in grades 8 %u2013 11 who wants to make a difference in their community?Beginning January 7, 2025 through March 3, 2025, teens with a passion for preparedness can apply to join FEMA%u2019s Youth Preparedness Council. FEMA created the Youth Preparedness Council in 2012 to bring together youth leaders from across the country who are passionate about emergency preparedness and making a difference in their communities.The YPC provides young people with an opportunity to learn about emergency management, develop professional skills, and share their perspectives with FEMA staff. The YPC is a concrete example of FEMA%u2019s commitment to involving America%u2019s youth in preparedness-related activities.Save the dates!
