Volume I of this four-part book series stands as a tribute to
the remarkable life and legacy of Ambassador Delano Lewis,
whose stories and experiences have left an indelible mark on all
who knew him. I am profoundly grateful to the Lewis family—his
beloved wife, Gayle, and their children, Delano II, Brian,
Geoffrey, and Phillip—for their generous support and for sharing
their precious memories during the creation of this book. Their
