Mirror
A lady pauses briefly I can see the blue skies
As her eyes well up with tears Where other skies are gray
For she thinks she’s lost her beauty
And I see children laughing
To the hardships and the years In the meadows where they play
She remembers all the good times I can see the Cattle Grazing
When she was just a girl Just below the rise
And kept her cowboy smiling And I can see a rainbow
With her laughing eyes and curls. From the twinkle in your eyes
Now her face is showing wrinkles I can see the Sweet grass
And her hair is turning gray Swaying gently in the breeze
She wonders where that young girl went And I can see the sunrise
She was here just yesterday Through golden Aspen trees.
Then her cowboy steps beside her I can see your heartbeat
Puts his arms around her waist Where Eagles cast their spell
Turns her ever gently And I can see your sweet Love
Brushes teardrops from her face As deep as any well.
There’s something I must tell you So when you stop to ponder
As I’ve held you through the years On reflections you hold dear
Let me tell you what I see Just remember Darling
For I will be your mirror…. I will be your mirror
