The floor plans were developed with a limited number of different formats so that a plan could be chosen based on the site conditions or project restrictions. The plan at the top left was cho- sen as the base prototype configuration and was refined substantially as we met with the vari- ous groups within the organization.
Once the general plan was established we started sketching out what the environment might look and feel like. Some of the key elements were the centrally located bar area with a jumbo- tron element overhead creating a center of energy. We also added an entry portal creating a sense of place similar to walking from the concourse to the field in an actual stadium (page 16, top right).
