S O much does property landlord Bob Callard like the bathroom he has had installed in a semi in Sheffield 8, that he is now looking to have a similar one fitted at his own home.
The company carrying out the work at the Thorpe House Estate house was Woodseats-based A61 Bathrooms Ltd who Bob made contact with after reading several glowing testimonials about them in this magazine. Now he’s happy to add his own praise to the family-run company’s growing list of delighted customers.
Recalling the 1936-built property’s previous bathroom, Bob described it as “Very green and covered in horrible grout.”
Bob said: “We bought the house in February last year and knew the bathroom was going to have to be replaced.
“We thought ‘let’s go with someone local’ and when Craig (proprietor at the Chesterfield Road business) put a price together, we just said ‘that’s fine’ and he was able to do the job within a month.

“He was helpful and was able to come up with practical solutions to some issues we had with the room.”
The transformation went smoothly and took less than a week to complete, including the installation of new flooring.
Now the bathroom looks particularly neat and tidy with a gleaming white washbasin, toilet and bathtub with wall-mounted detachable
shower and hinged screen. There is also a black, upright heater/towel rail and the transformation is made complete by large,
white wall tiles and a striking window blind. “It’s much, much nicer now,” said Bob.
“We like it so much that we are now looking forward to having the company install a new bathroom in our own house in August.”
