The Lily Pool Garden is a highly stylised garden centred on a quatrefoil shaped water feature that introduces water to
              the surrounding lower Lily Pool.
The garden was created in a mediterranean style, albeit the metal working and finish to the water feature could relate
to the Arts and Craft Movement.
The four outflows can be seen as the four directional compass points or ‘the Four Winds’. The mirrored water surface

connects sky and land through reflections thereby creating an ever changing magical sense.
The painting captures the energy of the water flow to the surrounding Lily Pool and the compositional drama is

accentuated by painting into the light.
The Gladiator can be glimpsed in the water reflections which can be interpretated as the ever latent potential
contra- presence of archetypal energy to the outpouring of creative energy.
