‘Humankind in the Image of God’ - Alter Realism
This composition references three sources namely; the Genesis Creation story which is
interpreted as a symbolic portrayal of the cosmic creation.
The elements of the narrative are derived from a Basilica Cupola and photographs that I took in
St Peter’s Square prior to an address by Pope Francis. The background patterning represents the
Cosmos created out of the undisclosed potentiality of flux deriving from the elemental
Covariant Quantum Fields.
The Earth is a mix of inspiration from an exhibit of opaque blue glass (2nd - 1st century B.C
presented in the Gregorian Etruscan Museum) and an element of one of my creation themed
paintings depicting the earth and moon.
