The “Alter Realist” composition is based on the contemporary courtyard at the Louvre in Paris.
Here, the scheme incorporates raised geometric ponds that form a water surface which reflects
the surrounding architectural decoration of the Palace.
The low angle evening light pierces through the colonnades and etches out the ornate classical
facades.
The female figure stands with outstretched hand, allowing petals to fall away and settle on the
water; thus representing her dreams. Nearby doves fly off , becoming a symbol of her thoughts
as they ascend into the world of potentiality.
