Envisioning the Unity of the Divine Alter Realism - Stained Glass

Stained Glass - Frieze - Blue Light

Stained Glass has continually been used in churches to create a sense and experience of ethereal light through the fusing of transient
light, colour patterns and narrative motifs, all creating a powerful visual effect that envelopes a space.
It is with the appreciation of such combinations that this series of paintings explores the effect of light and imagery in a contemporary
sense of abstraction and colour. The triptych arrangement captures the effect of light superimposing between two sets of windows.
The combination of leaded window construction and alternating patterns forms powerful abstractions in the Church of St Lawrence at
                     Lechlade on Thames.
