For the past 200 years the Anchor inn has served Porlock Weir’s 15th Century harbour. Now, as a hotel it is owned by Martin Miller’s
daughter.
Martin Miller was a charismatic entrepreneur and co-founded, together with his second wife, the Miller’s Antiques Price Guide which
was published annually for nearly twenty years and became an indispensable book for the market, as well as many other related books
and guides.
The hotel is crammed with many of the late Martin Miller’s collection of antiques and curiosities, which create a unique ambience.
This is especially the case within the Lounge/ Gallery. What was so fascinating and visually interesting was the placing of various
antiques and curios of different periods in such a juxtaposition as to be on the quirky side.
Guests can have morning coffee or afternoon tea or to just relax.
