An Interview with...
THE PROUD HOMEOWNERS OF
493 ROLLING HILLS DRIVE
Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS HOME?
A: It was new construction in a small, intimate development and we had our
choice of lots and floor plans. We picked a spacious, open floor plan and a lot
with a central location backing up to open space with awesome views in a real
neighborhood for families. A really good school district was also important
for our children and played into the decision of neighborhoods. It has natural
beauty and privacy but it is still accessible for commuting to NYC for work.
Q: Please describe the renovation process...
A: It was new construction when we bought it. Since then we have finished the
basement (2003) which created so much extra space for the kids to spend time
on rainy or cold days. Just a few years ago we treated ourselves to a kitchen
gut renovation. It was so much fun to pick out all the finishes, appliances, add
thoses special features we had wanted for several years such as the Instahot
tap, hidden appliances, and multiple ovens.
Q: Why are you moving?
A: With the kids being fully grown now and they have all moved out of the house
so we are downsizing. It's more space than we need at this point in our lives.
Q: Will you miss the neighbors?
A: Yes, we are the original owners and some of our very best friendships were developed
in the neighborhood. We will miss the fun dinners, parties, pool gatherings, bike rides,
cross country skiing, hikes and walks with our neighborhood friends. It was quite sad
when we had everyone over to share the news.
Q: Tell me about the grounds...
A: We really love being in this location that offers something special in every season of the
year. There are gorgeous views from the front overlooking over the hills. In the back we
are surrounded by mature private landscapping, a wooded open space, and a stone
wall. Our favorite views are in the fall and winter.
