Interview with the Listing Agent
Q: What makes this house so special?
A: This home was designed by the Modernist Architect of the 40's and 50's - Victor Civkin. He
was ahead of his time with his vision and design that he had to do a lot of on-site visits with
the builders so they could understand exactly how to construct his designs. He was known
for creating space filled with natural light - and he did not fall short of that with this home.
The layout is so smart and efficient with the living areas/rooms on the left side of the house
– the Kitchen and Great Room in the middle – and the Bedrooms on the far right side. This
allows for quiet areas to be together and entertaining or active rooms to be together. And,
the way the 2 levels of patios are situated right off the back of the house makes for easy use
whether it be a quiet weekend at home or a large gathering. And, the finished Lower Level
is ideal for so many uses – Home Gym, Rec Room, In-Law set-up... just perfect.
Q: What are some of the special features of the home?
A: Without a doubt, it’s the amount of windows and light that filters into the house. No
matter the time of day, there is always light streaming in from the front, back or numerous
skylights throughout. And… the Kitchen! A chef’s paradise with marble counters, custom
inset door cabinets with tons of roll-out drawers. Gleaming Wolf and Sub Zero appliances,
and 2 sinks for convenience. And the vaulted ceiling makes for an interesting detail.
Q: Tell me about the neighborhood.
A: Stoneleigh Square is such a unique street – it’s truly shaped like a “square” so you’ll only
get intentional cars that either live on the street or are visiting. Plus, this is a double lot
making it 1.32 acres, much larger than most parcels around it. The Stratfield Area is filled
with homes that exude New England charm and history, and are convenient to downtown,
shopping, schools, golf courses, beaches and both Fairfield train stations. People that live
in this part of town always stay for a while because it is such a comfortable and relaxing
place to live.
Q: Why is it on the market?
A: The home is part of an Estate that is being sold by the Family members. It was absolutely
lovingly maintained, and the family have continued to meticulously manage and improve
it by doing some interior painting and recently installing new carpeting. It is time for a new
owner to continue as stewards of the home and property.
