INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNER
PURCHASED IN 2005
What made us fall in love with home –
We moved to Easton in 1998 because we fell in love with the street. We were one of the
earlier residents and moved into a new house on the cul-de-sac where we lived for seven
years. When 100 Old Stonewall came on the market we realized it had everything we were
looking for: a pool, extra bathrooms, a level lot that I could garden in and a walkout lower
level. In 2005 we packed up and moved three houses away into this home. We definitely
wanted to stay on the block, stay in Easton and enjoy the extra amenities of this house
provided our family.
Renovation process –
We have renovated and made many upgrades throughout the years:
Custom kitchen with high end appliances, gas range, coffee bar and plenty of storage
We added pavers from lower walk-out slider to pool area and around pool
The yard is totally fenced in. New wood fence in drive and fencing in the woods. The
driveway fence railing matches the deck railing
Driveway from stone to asphalt
Replaced builders’ deck to custom Ipe deck
Pool house with power
New energy efficient windows and doors in kitchen and sunroom
Whole house generator
Why are we moving – We have a new home in Florida. We will miss Easton a lot it is truly
home for us
Will we miss the neighbors/ neighborhood? – Yes. The neighbors are great. No one is
overbearing but will be there to help if you need anything. Many have been here a long time
and our grown kids have played together when they were young.
Tell me about the grounds – The view of the woods behind the house is wonderful to watch
in every season. We have done a lot to make the yard peaceful and beautiful. There were
no perennial gardens here when we moved in and I have put my heart and soul into the
gardens.
Besides the perennial gardens and pool there are hummingbirds from early May till
September. Hang a hummingbird feeder off the deck, take a seat in a lounge chair and
watch them up close. They will hover right in front of you. We will miss our yard the most
but it will make me happy to think the next owners will love it and enjoy it the way we do.
What makes the property special? – The yard, the location, being on a cul-de-sac, the small
town feel of Easton, the open spaces close by, access to shopping.
