AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNER

What made you fall in love with 127 Miro Street?
When I started my search for my first home I was looking for something small that would
be easy to maintain. This home was neglected and needed work but the backyard and
neighborhood spoke to me. I couldn't resist being so close to my family, walking
distance from restaurants and a yard perfect for entertaining.

Please describe the renovation process ...
The renovation on the home gave me the opportunity to express myself and be
creative. I started with the exterior and clearing out the back yard and then we worked
on cleaning up the inside, repainting, re-finishing the floors and bringing in new cabinets
and counter-tops for the kitchen. It was great turning this little outdated house into a
contemporary home.

Did you ever consider putting in a pool?
The property has the perfect space for a pool. I never did it because I was planning on
expanding the house and putting in a new deck, once that was laid out I would have
stated looking at what it would take to put a pool in.

Why are you moving?
Work and life. My boyfriend and I both work in Hartford so we are looking to get
something further north so that we can spend less time commuting and more time
together.

Will you miss the neighborhood?

Yes. This is a very safe community and most people have lived on the street for many
many years. The neighbors are warm, friendly and always willing to help.

Tell me about the grounds ...
I'm going to miss the privacy of the house and how quiet it is. In the summers I would lay
out in the sun and read a book, have my friends and family over for BBQs and enjoy the
property.

What makes your lot so special?

The potential and the location. The property is large enough that you can expand the
house backwards and still have a lot of property and privacy.
