TOP 10 THINGS WE WILL MISS ABOUT 14 SPRUCE DRIVE
1. The mixture of privacy and convenience. Building the stone wall and fencing
in the perimeter of the property was one of the best decisions we made. It keeps
deer and unwanted critters out while giving us what seemed like our own private
oasis in a wonderful South Wilton neighborhood close to everything.
2. The neighbors. All super friendly and helpful. The Spruce/Pine Ridge block party every
year is a blast!
3. Safety for our children. You can’t beat living on a corner cul-de-sac where the only traffic
is the residents. Riding bikes and playing on the street with other kids was never a concern.
Parents from all over come to this area for Halloween trick-or-treating.
4. Being 5 minutes away from what many (including us) consider the best restaurant in CT,
the Schoolhouse at Cannondale. Keep an eye out for regular patron Christopher Plummer,
who lives close by.
5. Riding bikes to Rolling Hills Country Club - one of CT’s best golf courses, it also offers
tennis, swimming, and boasts an excellent restaurant!
6. Security of the home structure. This house is built like a tank, and our lasting
friendship with the builder is a testament to how happy we have been with the house.
Our area got hit particularly hard by hurricane Sandy. Never mind the falling trees, many
homes suffered severe wind damage. We didn’t lose so much as a roof tile.
7. The picturesque Ambler Farm which is within walking distance. We’ve attended
countless events there. Whether having our own tree to tap for maple syrup, summer
camp programs, or hayrides around Christmas with Santa, the farm is just magical.
8. The Chef’s kitchen. We like to cook and bake, so having the space and amazing
appliances to let loose in was terrific.
9. Having friends over to watch movies, football, or special events in our third floor media
room. Plenty of space and always a popular destination.
10. Reading in the library room in front of the fire. The steam shower after a hard workout or cold
day. Summer nights with friends on the back deck or lower patio area. The direct gas line to the
BBQ, so never an issue of changing a blue rhino tank that would always seems to run out at the most
inopportune time. The sweet sound of the whole house generator kicking on with the rare power outage.
Easter egg hunts on the huge front lawn. We’ll have wonderful memories forever from 14 Spruce Drive….
