INTERVIEW WITH THE
HOMEOWNER
What made us fall in love with this home
My roommate and I were two professional women who decided to go in on a house
together when we retired about 30 years ago. We wanted a cute house in a peaceful
neighborhood with three bedrooms and two baths, so we could each have our own
space, plus a spare room for friends and family who came to visit. We also wanted
hardwood floors, lots of natural light, and a big private yard. When we saw this house,
we knew immediately it was perfect for us! We also loved the Chimney Heights section
of Bethel because of its charming small-town atmosphere, quiet tree-lined
neighborhoods, and convenient access to groceries, restaurants, doctors, churches,
banks, and other features. We absolutely loved living here.
Why are you moving?
Well, I'm 89 now, and my roommate has been deceased for about 10 years. My family
and I realized that it wasn't ideal for me to be living alone in a house anymore. So I
moved into Church Hill Village Assisted Living in Newtown — and now I'm "living my
best life," as my nephew likes to say. :-)
Did you ever have a pool?
Yes! For many years, we enjoyed having a big above-ground pool in the northwest
corner of the property. It got to be too much for two old ladies to maintain, so we had it
drained and dismantled over 20 years ago. The electrical hookup for the pump and
filter is still there — the next owner could easily install a new one in the same location!
