INTERVIEW WITH THE
HOMEOWNER
What made you fall in love with 84 Algonquin?
The old world charm wood floors, all the trim on the walls, the layout, the unique porte
cochere. The partially heated driveway..
Describe the renovation process.
Renovating the kitchen was great. We put in all new hardwood floors, new appliances,
more lighting. We kept the amazing butlers pantry and opened it up to allow more light.
We wanted to keep the house as original as possible so we had all windows original pull
systems repaired so they open and close while keeping with the old home charm.
Will you miss the neighbors?
Yes! Everyone is so friendly. We have annual Octoberfest on our shared open
space. There is also an annual 4th of July party at the neighbour’s house. Several homes
have "Open Houses" during the Winter holidays. We also everyone's cats and dogs by
name!!
What makes your property so special?
The outside style is so unique with its charming benches. Our house front door is the first
door picked by the iconic "Doors of Connecticut" Posters. The Porte-cochère is useful,
big, and a great entrance.
Did you ever consider putting in a pool?
No, the kids enjoyed playing lacrosse too much in the backyard.
