Top 10 Things you will love about 105 Sherwood Farm Road
1. Location, location, location! We are 5-10 minutes to everything! I-95 & the Merritt; beaches, grocery stores;
farmers markets, FTC, Town Green, Fairfield Libraries & the incredible restaurants. Our daughters live in
NYC, the short drive to the train station has been especially important to us. After a long day at work or a
play in Manhattan, a quick drive home from the train station makes all the difference.
2. Floor plan and design details! We designed and built this home with every aspect meticulously planned.
It was designed for entertaining and over the years it has not disappointed. The flow from room to room
works wonderfully for entertaining as well as everyday living.
3. The large open kitchen! So many parties have been held and as wine enthusiasts we have hosted multiple
sommelier led wine tasting events where this kitchen set the stage for the entire evening! The design is
such that as the cook you are able to prep and prepare the meal and your guests have plenty of space to
interact while you cook. Most parties we have held always congregate into the spacious kitchen/wet bar
area.
4. We built this house with an expansive custom arch centered on the family room palladium window to
accommodate the Christmas Tree (no joke it was June). Our Christmas trees have grown over the years as
the ceiling height in our family room allows for basically any height. We love filling out the space with the
enormous tree over the holidays and seeing the joy it brought our girls. The windows allow for abundant
sunlight and even on the gloomiest days the family room is filled with light.
5. The outdoor deck with its custom awning and portico as well as fire pit makes entertaining outside a
3-season event. We spend a great deal of time enjoying our morning coffee and evening wine on the deck.
It is blissfully quiet and is our oasis. The wild turkeys, deer and owls in the woods are a treat to watch. And
the stargazing is amazing!
6. I'm not a big fan of laundry so I made the laundry room & mudroom as pleasurable and easy as possible.
Everything is within reach and the laundry shoot holds more than you'd expect so laundry days are kept to
a minimum! It also serves as kid central for the dropping off of sports equipment and book bags
7. The yard~When our children were young, we had a very large playset where we could watch them playing
from the kitchen window or deck. The privacy of the woods is heavenly and watching the seasons pass
beautifully from the first season buds to the autumn leaves the view never disappoints.
8. Neighbors, there aren’t enough words. We have been here 24 years for a reason. Living on a cul-de-sac has
been wonderful. We have held block parties, caroling parties (ours being the central house for the end of
the singing). The children were able to walk to their friends’ homes and play safely in the street. Everyone
knows each other’s dogs and names. Younger families are now moving in and it is a joy to watch them walk
from the corner bus stop to home.
9. Closets, Closets, Closets!! We love all the hidden storage areas and in the primary bedroom there are two
walk-in closets as well as 2 additional closets. It is a girl’s dream. Can you say shoe closet…Drop the mic!
10. Finished Lower level ~ Hours upon hours have been spent in this space, hosting sleepovers, craft parties,
Superbowl and Oscar party celebrations. The walkout allowed for seamless indoor-outdoor flow for lawn
games, volley ball and corn hole tournaments.
