Interview with the Homeowner
Q: What made you buy this house when you were looking?
A: The house was incredibly charming with it's warm welcoming & quaint features. I loved
the cozy Living Room with the wood burning fireplace and the opposite with the spacious
Family Room with its high ceiling and tons of natural light. I loved the location; close to
shopping, medical offices, Wolfe Park & Great Hollow Lake yet offered tons of privacy with
the secluded back deck, pool and hot tub.
Q: Tell me about the neighborhood.
A: This part of Monroe is very desirable because of it's location to routes 111 and 25 for easy
access to shopping, restaurants and commuting. And, it is always one of the first streets to
get plowed! If you're looking to take a nice walk or go for a run, there are a few off-shoot
streets to access right across the way.
Q: What is your favorite feature(s) of the house?
A: Because the original house was built in 1850, it has classic New England charm and archi-
tecture. From the historic blend of exterior colors to the stone fireplace - the character is
so beautiful. The first floor Master suite is definitely one of my favorite features, along with
the sun-drenched large deck and pool - we enjoy that all summer long.
Q: What improvements have you made since purchasing?
A: The bow window in the kitchen was replaced with 2 individual windows in 2015 to bet-
ter match the front. New flooring in the Kitchen in 2020 and appliances have all been
upgraded to Stainless Steel in October, 2021. A new commercial grade washing machine
was installed in 2019. The Master Bath was redesigned and upgraded in 2018 with ceramic
tiling and custom trim work and new flooring in the Master Bedroom. The hardwood floors
in the Living, Dining and Family Rooms were refinished in 2021. The exterior was painted
in 2021. New hot water tank was installed in 2019, Hot Tub was installed in 2015 and a new
pool filter in 2019.
Q: Why are you moving?
A: It is basically time to relocate out of State to be near my adult children. I have enjoyed my
years living in beautiful Monroe, but it is time for the next chapter.
