AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNER
We love architecture, so when we were looking for a home for the family, we didn't want a cookie
cutter house that looked like all the others. When we came across 200 Lloyd Drive, we knew we
found something special: A well thought out, carefully designed Nantucket shingle style beauty that
was right up our alley. Marc Andre, who is both the architect and builder of the home, met us at the
property and wowed us with his creativity and vision. We were hooked!
The basement was unfinished when we first viewed 200 Lloyd Drive, but with 9 foot ceilings and 1500
square feet, we saw huge potential. Marc finished it to our specs, including a home theatre room
(wired with HDMI), TV/game room, wine cellar, full bath and more. We especially love the use of
bamboo flooring and cedar in the wine cellar.
Yes, we had one in our prior home and loved it. But we had a summer home in the Berkshires on a
lake, so we gone a lot in the summer. I still think a pool would be look great in the back yard, but it's
also nice to have a flat lawn to throw a football around! We also put a big tent out back for our
son's high school graduation and had 100 guests, and a pool would have gotten in the way of that.
Two reasons: the first is a job change has pulled us away from Fairfield. Secondly, the kids are rapidly
leaving the nest, and a house this size (and in this kid-friendly) neighborhood is wonderful for a grow-
ing family, but getting a little too big for us. So it's time to move closer to work and down size.
Absolutely! We'll especially miss the block parties, and the swarm of kids on Halloween night.
The grounds are flat and usable. The underground sprinklers keep the grass and flowers watered,
and relieve us of chore of watering. Fenced on the sides and with large evergreens in the back, we
feel privacy, but also an in-town, community feel.
