AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PROUD
HOMEOWNERS OF 3141 NORTH STREET
WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH 3141 NORTH STREET?
We love the outdoors and also love to entertain friends and family. We are
as happy cooking for gatherings of six or sixty and so we wanted a home that
would be intimate for either size gathering and everything in between. Initially
we walked around the exterior of the home and while the front of the home
had great curb appeal, it paled in comparison to the outdoor living space in the
back. The grotto area we found was reminiscent of those we had seen at family-
owned wineries in California. Inside, we were elated to find a bright open layout
that was as equally attractive as the outside.
DID YOU EVER CONSIDER PUTTING IN A POOL?
Being only 10 minutes away from the Sound, we never really felt like we needed a
pool although our lot could accommodate a pool in a number of locations.
WHY ARE YOU MOVING?
We are getting older and while we still love entertaining, we do so now on a more
modest basis. It is time for the next family to treasure this home and build their
own memories.
WILL YOU MISS THE NEIGHBORS?
When we moved in, within a week we had an open house to introduce
ourselves and to meet the neighbors. All were drawn to this area by the same
things we were - the quiet seclusion, wildlife and woodlands all within a 10
minute trip to town.
TELL ME ABOUT THE GROUNDS ...
What we will miss the most is all of the flowering trees which each take their
turn blossoming throughout the spring. Coupled with the deer, turkeys and
other wildlife passing through the backyard, sitting on the upper patio in the
sunshine afforded a continually changing natural vista where we loved to sit with
a glass of wine.
WHAT MAKES YOUR LOT SO SPECIAL?
The house is positioned such that all of the outdoor spaces have a southward facing
exposure allowing us to sit outside during even the cooler days of spring and fall. We are
also blessed with having a 180 acre nature preserve 300 yards further of our country lane
where we can walk our pugs and bulldog.
