15. ITALIAN FESTIVAL
    Sponsored by St. Jude church annually
    at the end of August. The Italian festival
    includes Italian food, amusement rides,
    games of chance and entertainment. Over
    the years the festival has grown from a two-
    day carnival to the current four-day festival,
    attracting more than 10,000 visitors.

    17. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
    Every year in December the town
    community gathers to take part in the
    Christmas Tree Lighting on the Monroe
    Green. Children can visit Santa and listen
    to Christmas Caroling/Music. There is also
    free hot cocoa and cookies. All are
    welcome!
                                          19. MONROE POLICING FISHING DERBY
                                          Every year residents have a chance to
                                          participate in the annual Monroe Police
                                          Fishing Derby. They derby takes place at
                                          Wolfe Park’s Great Hollow Lake and is open
                                          to children ages 3 through 15. Prizes will
                                          be awarded to the largest fish by weight in
                                          each age group.


                                          20. SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
                                          The Annual Summer Concert Series offers
                                          Monroe Residents top notch entertainment
                                          at Wolfe Park on Friday evenings at 7:30.
                                          Attendees are encourages to bring blankets,
                                          chairs, and your family or a group of friends
                                          to enjoy an evening outdoors under the
                                          stars.
