TOP 10 THINGS
We will miss about 5 Fieldcrest Road
What’s not to love about Fieldcrest Road? Narrowing down this list to the top things we love
about the street and our home of 34 years is a challenge! But good things come with change
and now is the time for our change. Here are the top ten things we will miss the most:
1. First and foremost we will miss our neighbors. We’ll especially miss their
friendliness and consideration of all. When Robert Frost wrote “good fences
make good neighbors” he never met the lovely people on Fieldcrest Roadd.
Our neighbors all respect every person’s privacy.Yet on the rare occasion that
someone needs a helping hand they are there to help. We get together every six
months as a street to enjoy each other’s company. Even the early days of Covid
quarantine didn’t stop us. We spaced our lawn chairs in the circle and chatted
about coping with a frightening and challenging scenario. We lined the street
and banged pots and pans to celebrate a youngster’s birthday when parties
were not to be had. Everyone reached out to make sure that our neighbors were
safe. In good times and bad they are on our side.
2. We’ll miss looking out our Kitchen window and seeing the children ride their
scooters and bikes in the cul-de-sac. It reminds us of how fortunate we felt
when our children did the same. No cars to worry about and plenty of space
to learn how to do wheelies. There’s also a gentle slope in the front yard that
begs for tubes and sleds when it’s snowed. It’s a great playground for young and
“older”children.
3. The addition in our Kitchen oers us a sun filled room to enjoy meals with our
family and friends. It’s also been the perfect spot to see all the changes the four
seasons bring to our yard. Watching flowers bloom in the spring and summer
and then seeing the leaves turn majestic colors in the fall is surpassed only by
the quintessential New England picture of snow covered evergreens.
