In 2017, R&D efforts turned towards reducing the size of the system making it comparable to a standard chlorine pool filtration system.
OUR HISTORY By this time, Clear Water Revival had completed unplanted pool projects with the mineral+biome® system all over the UK as well as in
France and Portugal. Operations Director and experienced luxury pool designer Jason Bierne, and Managing Director Jon Heywood
joined the company during this period to manage the growth of the construction side of the business.
Clear Water Revival Ltd was founded in 2006 by clean tech engineer Andrew Cox and marine biologist David Nettleton. Swimming
ponds were the company's initial product which relied on organic planted filtration zones. Despite success in delivering swimming pond
projects across the UK, this type of installation had limitations. They couldn’t be heated or covered, and weren’t suitable for the vast Clear Water Revival’s research and development team split off in 2019 to create a dedicated tech company (Origin Aqua) to focus on
majority of clients who were looking for an unplanted pool, some of whom wanted their pools to be indoors and expected pristine water licensing the mineral+biome® system in international markets. Further research into beneficial minerals and skin health is also
quality with very little maintenance. undertaken. Clear Water Revival became the exclusive UK license holder and invested in further project management and operational
resource to service it’s ever-increasing pipeline of swimming pool projects.
With the ambition of making chemical-free swimming possible for as many clients as possible, our focus turned to developing a
packaged filtration technology suitable for use in any swimming pool, indoors or outdoors, heated, covered and without any need for In 2020, Clear Water Revival launched a one-piece composite pool product to complement it’s bespoke offering and make mineral
organic plants. The goal was to rid the mainstream pool market of harmful chemicals using the power of science and nature. water swimming accessible to an even wider market, whilst speeding up construction time and increasing efficiency.
Clear Water Revival’s first bio-filter was developed in 2011 in association with Innovate UK and Cranfield university. This was refined in
2012 allowing pools to be heated and for planted zones to be removed completely. In 2014, Clear Water Revival completed Europe’s
first biologically filtered indoor pool.
A research partnership was formed in 2015 with the University of the West of England and further R&D revealed that the biofilter
neutralises pathogens such as E.coli, Pseudomonas and Enterococcus and that certain health improving minerals inhibit colonisation.
