MYSTICISM EMBODIED IN HERITAGE: SPIC MACAY
2021
Mata Jai Kaur Public School hosted an episode of the SPIC MACAY
Great Masters series on 19 June 2021 which is an endeavour to make
the new generation aware of the approach and style of legendary
artists who have enriched Indian performing arts. The legendary
tabla artist Pt. Nayan Ghosh and flautist Pt. Ronu Mazumdar graced the
event. These eminent luminaries threw light on the life, achievements
and lifestyle of Pt. Pannalal through an interactive session. This session
between the artists and the young learners was informative and delightful.
On behalf of the management, the Principal of the school, Ms Rashmi
Mehta highlighted the role of music serving as the soul and rhythm of our
lives. Ms Mehta reiterated that one’s ability and commitment play a key role
in excelling in any given profession. She further exemplified that there is a
lot to learn from Pt. Pannalal’s life and legacy and students must tap
this opportunity well. She expressed gratitude for the entire team of
SPIC MACAY, the children and the school staff for organizing such an
enriching event. Such events inspire children by making them experience
the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry of Indian and World
Heritage. A pre- Pt Pannalal’s performance the
audience mesmerized.
