A Word From our Executive Officer

           Colorado DeMolay,

Another year has passed, and I would like to thank Mason Sellars for the outstanding job he has done
leading our jurisdiction. His building DeMolay, breaking down barriers program has been a tremendous
success and has helped Colorado DeMolay grow in many different areas. We have reached growth for the
eighth year in a row, and it is always a pleasure to see the chapters growing. Mason has continued pushing
for membership, and therefore we have a strong start to our ninth year of membership for Colorado
DeMolay. Breaking down the barriers between the tri-youth groups has proven to be a great success and
has helped add to our membership. I am proud to say, I think we have a much stronger relationship with
Job’s and Rainbow than we have had in the recent past, and I believe it has proven fruitful for all three
organizations. The two chapters, Columbine and Poudre Valley that we reconstituted last year are off to a
great start. Columbine has five very active members and just finished helping at the Shrine Circus on the
western slope. Poudre Valley just voted in a Chapter Sweetheart, and they continue to welcome new
members. Mason spent his term working hard to build bonds with all of the chapters to better our
organization. He and his team of officers have been very busy working for the overall betterment of our
jurisdiction. The successes we have seen throughout the term were accomplished while our State Master
Councilor was finishing his High School year, preparing to graduate, holding a job, attending fight practice,
and fighting competitively. He was also working on multiple projects for DeMolay International, being actively
involved in committees for DeMolay International, and traveling throughout our state and to many different
jurisdictions to promote this great organization.

I would also like to thank Kaylea Beck, our State Sweetheart. Kaylea had a very busy year as well. She held
multiple fundraisers and hosted one of the most successful Sweetheart events I have seen. The Sweetheart
Ball was packed, and everyone who attended had an enjoyable and memorable time. She worked hand in
hand with the young men of the state line to do everything that was asked of a State Sweetheart. She
successfully supported Colorado DeMolay while she was very busy with sports, work, her final year in high
school, and working to obtain her EMT certification. I am proud of the support that was shown to Colorado
DeMolay by our State Sweetheart and the young ladies of the sweetheart program.

We travel to many states throughout each year, and Colorado DeMolay is known for our jurisdiction activity,
our fun programs, and we’re looked to for new and exciting ideas. I challenge each one of you to get out
there and travel, if not out of our state, then please travel to other Chapters within our jurisdiction. You will
see how other Chapters run and execute their programs and you can help your chapter by bringing back the
good ideas and working to improve other ideas that you see. In these travels, you will learn new things, and
meet many wonderful brothers that you can share ideas with and build bonds that will last the rest of your
           life.

When you finally read this, we will have just returned from Buffalo New York where the International
Congress Session was held this year. This year’s session is a very special one for Colorado DeMolay as we
will be joined by your brothers from all around the world and Brother Mason Sellars will be running for
International Congress Secretary while we are there. We have no doubt in his abilities to do an excellent job
representing our jurisdiction, and if elected, he will do a tremendous job representing DeMolay International.

In closing, get out there and experience all the wonderful things DeMolay has to offer, you will not regret it.
The more you do for DeMolay; the more DeMolay does for you. Share the experience and tell everyone you
know about how much you learn, the opportunities available, and how much fun you can have in DeMolay.

Thank you all for your dedication to DeMolay!

           Fraternally,

           Dad Jon Sellars
