The questionnaire results (faculty members, program students, and the stakeholders) related to
the program vision, mission and goals were very satisfactory. The results also demonstrated that
the program’s mission and goals are more than just documents. The program mission and goals
can be seen as a roadmap which directs planning and activities. In this way, the mission and goals
of the bachelor of Mechanical engineering program are aligned to the core values of the Faculty of
engineering and Al-Baha University.
1-1-2 The program has a sufficient number of qualified staff to perform its administrative,
*
professional, and technical tasks, and they have defined tasks and authorities.
The leadership of the program and all faculty members in the Mechanical Engineering Program
have academic and administrative experiences that qualify them to carry out the administrative,
professional and technical tasks assigned to them. The Mechanical program consists of 22 faculty
members; 12 Saudis and 10 Non-Saudi. There are 3 associate professors, 10 assistant professors, 6
lecturers, 3 demonstrators, and professor as shown in Table S1.1.2.1. However, the KPI target
benchmark of this is 20%, 30% and 50% of teaching staff for professors, associate professors, and
assistant professors respectively. The actual KPI value of teaching staff distribution for 2022-2023
is 0% for professors, 23% for associate professor and 77% for assistant professors. Moreover, the
ratio of students to teaching staff (based on full-time equivalents) for verified doctoral
qualifications is 20:1 although the target benchmark should be 13:1 according to teaching staff,
