Buddy, Cont. from page 4
I noticed the other day he brought some nuts to the win- dow where the curtain was closed. He was sitting there star- ing in the window, shifting positions and watching himself. He looked like a movie star primping and arranging for just the right photo shot. Good grief! The funny thing is...I had to agree with him, he looked pretty good.
I’ve realized over the years that squirrels do have some hard- ships fighting fleas and mange and once in a while getting their tails clipped off at the end from the neighborhood dog, all because they think they can run faster and outwit the ani- mal. Buddy has had it pretty good around here, there are no dogs running loose. I know he visits other neighborhoods, though and I worry about him, but this spring he sure is look- ing mighty spiffy! I think this new found feeling of compassion for others might really be making him a “purty” squirrel...on the inside and outside. My little Buddy is growing up.
I love this idea he has for thinking of other animals, too. I’ve noticed there are way too many unwanted dogs and cats in this world and we are all advocates for spaying and neutering! Talk to your local vet, some vets have kindly offered a lower price if you can catch a stray and take it in for neutering. We think this is a wonderful idea. I have some friends that have rescued and adopted strays and Buddy and I want to thank them from our heart for doing this.
Now it is time for Buddy Pauses for Lost Paws...where Buddy will mention pets that have passed away, so they will always be remembered in hearts!
Baby, loved and cherished “fur child” of Kelly Steele, Love always, cousin, Cat.
In memory of Sophie, beloved “fur child” of Julie Kahl... Catherine.
We will never forget our Fritz Bender-Myers, loving dog and loyal companion of 13 years.
Thanks for listening! Steve (and primping Buddy) Walker Mortuary
